Drum Cleaning Equipment For Manufacturers of Paint, Ink, Food And Beverages, And More

Industrial drums used by manufacturers are essential in the processing, mixing, and transport of a wide range of liquid products. Once they are no longer in use, these containers are either disposed of, which can be quite costly and wasteful, or must be carefully cleaned for reuse using industrial cleaning equipment.

Drum cleaning, when completed manually or through a third-party service, can be a significant drain on labor, time, and monetary resources. It's easy to avoid such costs by incorporating a drum washing machine into your facility.

Drum cleaning equipment is specifically designed to clean drums, IBCs, IBC totes, vats, 55-gallon and other standard-quantity barrels, as well as various vessels used by manufacturers of food and beverages, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, paint, ink, dyes, and other liquids.

This machinery is specially designed to remove all residues from a container so that it can be reused. The cleaning process is quick, uniform, and contained. Drum cleaning time is completed within an average of three minutes.

Since the cleaning is performed through an automated hands-off method, energy, water, detergent, solvent, and other cleaning resources are used to the utmost efficiency. The result is less waste and labor with the added advantage of a more comprehensive clean.

Drum Washing Machines Provide Efficient, Uniform Cleaning

If your company has been relying on a third-party collection and cleaning services to maintain your equipment, you can avoid the time, inconvenience, and cost of moving your container inventory offsite. With in-house drum washing, it's easy to regularly achieve a level of cleanliness that satisfies food-grade requirements and ensures product integrity, consistency, and safety.

Multiple washing mechanisms ensure a deep clean of containers of all dimensions, sizes, and materials. This includes drums, tanks, barrels, and containers that have a significantly smaller opening compared to the overall size of the vessel. Totes and IBCs are an example of this, as these containers feature an opening that is just a few inches in diameter and much tighter than its very large interior capacity of 275 gallons or greater.

Drum cleaning equipment utilizes brushes that compress to fit within narrow openings and then expand to clean the interior. Spray and pressure washing, along with heated water and detergent solutions, or various chemical cleansers and solvents, makes this process extremely efficient. All particles and residues can be reliably removed from the interior and exterior of drums.

Vessels can be loaded into the drum washing machine by hand or fed automatically on a belt. The volume of the vessels will typically determine whether the loading process can be performed manually or completed in an automated or continuous manner.

Draining and contaminant collection can be modified based on the disposal, waste handling, or recycling requirements of your operations. NexGen Enviro Systems provides many different solvent recovery and recycling solutions that can be paired with drum cleaning equipment. Collecting contaminated solvent following the drum washing process and reclaiming it through distillation can save even more resources for your company.

The housing of the drum cleaning equipment keeps the process isolated and serves to better maintain the safety of your facility and personnel. Housing may not be required for all drum cleaners. Incorporation of this element, like many other features of our machinery, can be modified based on the unique needs of your operations and the vessels being cleaned.

The process of incorporating this capability onto your production floor isn't as complicated or costly as you might think.

Incorporating A Drum Cleaner Into Your Operations

The drum washing equipment we provide is catered to your requirements. The modular features of the machinery make it possible to build a solution that accounts for your facility layout, your manufacturing process, the product and its components, the vessels to be cleaned, your current cleaning medium—as well as any mediums you aim to use in the future—and other systems you'd like to incorporate into your cleaning process.

Incorporating a drum cleaner typically requires very basic facility resources. Units can be fit to small and large spaces and can be integrated into current infrastructure, including drainage lines and other waste management systems.

Whether your cleaning medium consists of water and detergent or solvents and other chemical-based cleansers—or a combination of both—drum cleaning equipment can be built to accommodate those specifics.

Drum and tote washing stations can be tailored to highly specific needs. Our expert team will help you identify a solution that will be effective. We'll then ensure everything is implemented and fully operational as soon as possible.
